The Standard holster available in a variety of colors and camouflage patterns. Shown here is FDE (flat dark earth) and is just one of the 30+ colors available. It comes standard in black with 1.75″ injection molded belt loops. Optional, tuckable, J hook, and/or pull the dot belt loops allow inside the waistband (IWB) carry for added versatility and concealability. It’s like getting two holsters in one.
This is the best all around holster available. The pancake holster style fits close to the body that allows excellent concealment yet offers quick access when you need it.
New in December 2021 is the option to choose your own sweat shield size. The sweat shield is the body side part of the holster that covers the slide. A full would extend to the rear of the slide. A low would be close to the rear of the grip. Low with RMR/MRD reduces the sweat shield from the top of the slide for slide mounted red dots.
The body of the holster is constructed of .080 Kydex or for some finishes Holstex. Both offer excellent resistance to environmental conditions. Hot, cold, wet or dry will not harm your holster. Other thicknesses are available as a custom order. Although we feel .080 offers the best properties. The .060 thickness will do the job but feels flimsy to most people. The Standard Holster and belt loop position allows for six carry heights and different angles for most full size pistols. Adjustment will vary depending on pistol length. The highest position of the belt loops allows the pistol to sit lowest on your belt. This will roughly place the trigger guard at the belt level. The belt loops can be dropped down to the next set of eyelets making for a slightly higher ride. Flipping the belt loops upside down with further raise the ride of the holster. Inverting the belt loops for a very high ride, as with any holster, should only be done with a stiff belt. SideKick Holster
Ares Tactical has made combination pistol and magazine IWB holsters for years by special order. There’s a pretty consistent pattern that several Kydex holster makers use. Our wasn’t that different in the basic design. We applied our critical eye on using the best materials and finishing, but essentially they looked and worked the same. Will the SideKick IWB holster work without a magazine? Yes, the SideKick is designed in a way that allows it to be used with or without a magazine placed in the slot. 2. Will this work with my Trijicon RMR (Burris Fast Fire, JP JPoint, etc.)? Generally, no. To keep the profile small we tuck the magazine slot close to the pistol. Some combinations of mini dot optics, mount, and compact magazines may work. 3. I see you make other holsters for my XDs 3.3 but not in the SideKick model. Why? The SideKick is made for many double stack pistols. Some double stack pistols and most single stack pistols do not work well with the intent of this design. 4. Is there an option for two or three magazines? No. Adding a second magazine substantially increases the relative size and severely restricts the versatility of the design. We recommend if you want to carry more magazine to get the Ares Tactical IWB Single Mag Carrier. 5. What are the optional deep seat clips? Tanker Chest Holster
The Tanker Holster was born out of a need for a easy access system where traditional belt or thigh holsters were not practical. Classically seen worn by tankers and pilots, today you can still see these used by military personnel as well as backpackers, hikers, and atv off roaders. The Ares Tactical Tanker Chest Holster is based on the 1940’s US Military M7 Tanker Holster. We have designed in a lot of improvements including using weatherproof Kydex, allowing greater adjustability in sizing and retention. Additionally, we have designed the holster to be adjustable in the carry angle. It can be rotated to near horizontal. This allows for a more natural draw angle to fit your body. Shoulder Holster
From Miami Vice to Dirty Harry or a Yippee Ki-Yay NYC police detective, the shoulder holster has played an iconic role in movies and television. The Ares Tactical Shoulder Holster is an updated lightweight version using Kydex. This is a significant weight saving over older traditional leather versions and fit better than nylon models. We offer both horizontal and vertical carry holsters. Both models features an optional removable belt tie down. Each holster has a tension adjustment so you can adjust the retention to meet your desire. You can add a double magazine carrier on the other side. This really helps balance the rig and is a great way to have extra magazines at the ready. The shoulder harness is x-rig design that distributes weight well and helps to keep you holster and ammo where you place them. On the off side you can add a double magazine pouch or a combination magazine and flashlight pouch. Besides having those extra items you should be carrying easily at hand is provides great balance if you are not tying your holster into your belt. All shoulder holsters require greater care and training as compared to strong side belt holsters such as our Standard Holster. The disadvantages are it is very easy to sweep (muzzle) yourself and others on the draw. Also, it can be troublesome for people back problems. There are also some significant advantages wearing a shoulder holster. Among the advantages of a shoulder holster is access while seated. This is particularly true when you are strapped into your car seat. You can also stage your hand on the weapon under your jacket and still be concealed and inconspicuous. The shoulder rig is a great way to have your pistol and magazines at the ready for those bumps in the night. Many people find the shoulder holster in more convenient to draw with either hand. Tie down straps simple screw onto your kydex holster or mag holder and snap around your belt. We recommend at least one when choosing the vertical shoulder holster configuration. Paddle Holster
Designed for comfortable all day carry, the Paddle Holster is far easier to put on and remove than a belt holster. Low cut sight channel aids in quickly clearing holster in getting on target. Molle Holster
The MOLLE Holster provides full slide protection while minimizing the real estate used on your belt or vest. The additional slide coverage helps protect your rear sight and firearm. Custom lower profile slide coverage is also available. Supplied with dual MALICE Clips, the MOLLE Holster mounts easily and securely. There are multiple vertical height adjustments as well as horizontal mounting. Mounting solutions using G-Code RTI system, Safariland QLS and ELS, or Blade-Tech Tek-Lok can be done on a custom basis too. If you want added versatility you can get the optional rigid belt loop is available for $10. They are available in 1.5, 1.75, and 2″ and come with all the necessary hardware. The nearly indestructible Kydex body withstands the rigors of being in the field. Hot, cold, dry or wet is will will not matter. Wrap around muzzle design protects the muzzle, keeps your clothes cleaner, and is far more comfortable than exposed versions. An added benefit is it allows plenty of clearance for drainage. New for 2015 are the adjustable tension screws. This will allow you to easily fine tune the retention of your holster. New for 2017 are the options for slide coverage. The original model featured a full sweat shield that went up slide and protected the rear sight from all sorts of battlefield abuses. Competition Holster
Competition Holster for IDPA and USPSA Go to our new Competition Holster page. If you order on this page and not the new one linked above you will only get a Right Hand, Low Sweat Shield, and less options. The Competition Holster is perfect for IDPA and USPSA action shooting matches, general range use, or everyday carry. The low cut front allows the pistol to clear the holster faster and get on target sooner. If you measure time by the hundreths of a second this is the holster you want on your side. Dual retention screws lets you fine tune the draw effort. You can make this as secure as you want. Adjustment are made with a common Phillips screwdriver meeting IDPA requirements. A fully enclosed trigger guard meets all competitive sports rules and recommendations of most professional trainers. The low cut front is a popular feature. It allows you to clear the holster faster and get your muzzle pointed downrange sooner. This is also compatible with Trijicon RMR, Burris Fast Fire, and JP Rifles JPoint style slide mounted micro red dot sights. Our design meets the rules criteria for both IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) and USPSA (including Production Division) as well as many other shooting competitions. If you are not an IDPA or IPSC member you should look into them. Both are very welcoming to new shooters and great way to improve your skills. Multiple carry heights are possible with the Tek-Loc belt adapter. It fits belts up to 2.25 inches. A standard 1.75” belt allows six carry height adjustments that can be locked in. You can add a FBI 15 degree forward cant or a muzzle forward cant in it’s base position. A flared opening is added for safety and ease. This allows the shooter to holster the pistol easily without the need to point the muzzle at themselves to get it started into the holster. Muzzling yourself in IDPA, USPSA, or in general is forbidden. Order the single color or two-tone model. The single color uses only the Base Color Option. If you order Black or Gunmetal Grey you will be a heavier .93 Kydex. When ordering the dual color model select the inside Base Color then the outside shell wrap color.
