The Tanker Holster was born out of a need for a easy access system where traditional belt or thigh holsters were not practical. Classically seen worn by tankers and pilots, today you can still see these used by military personnel as well as backpackers, hikers, and atv off roaders.
The Ares Tactical Tanker Chest Holster is based on the 1940’s US Military M7 Tanker Holster. We have designed in a lot of improvements including using weatherproof Kydex, allowing greater adjustability in sizing and retention. Additionally, we have designed the holster to be adjustable in the carry angle. It can be rotated to near horizontal. This allows for a more natural draw angle to fit your body.
The Ares Tactical Tanker Chest Holster can also be configured in the M3 Tanker style that uses a single sling style loop
Unlike the original military M3 and M7 Tanker Holsters, ours can be ordered in dozens of different firearms and colors. SideKick Holster
Ares Tactical has made combination pistol and magazine IWB holsters for years by special order. There’s a pretty consistent pattern that several Kydex holster makers use. Our wasn’t that different in the basic design. We applied our critical eye on using the best materials and finishing, but essentially they looked and worked the same. The new SideKick holster is a first in its design. It takes up less belt room than the traditional style making it far more versatile in where you place it. Most pistol and mag holsters are limited to carrying in the front or AIWB (appendix Inside-the-belt). The Ares Tactical SideKick is small enough that some users will be able to place it anywhere including the strong side 3 o’clock position. The mag slot is built to handle full size magazines regardless of pistol size. Compact and subcompact magazines will fit deeper in the slot. Will the SideKick IWB holster work without a magazine? Yes, the SideKick is designed in a way that allows it to be used with or without a magazine placed in the slot. 2. Will this work with my Trijicon RMR (Burris Fast Fire, JP JPoint, etc.)? Generally, no. To keep the profile small we tuck the magazine slot close to the pistol. Some combinations of mini dot optics, mount, and compact magazines may work. 3. I see you make other holsters for my XDs 3.3 but not in the SideKick model. Why? The SideKick is made for many double stack pistols. Some double stack pistols and most single stack pistols do not work well with the intent of this design. 4. Is there an option for two or three magazines? No. Adding a second magazine substantially increases the relative size and severely restricts the versatility of the design. We recommend if you want to carry more magazine to get the Ares Tactical IWB Single Mag Carrier. 5. What are the optional deep seat clips? UltiClip Holster
The Ares Tactical UltiClip Holster takes our loved Bodyguard IWB Holster and updates it for the use with the UltiClip3 retention device. This clamp is so good you don’t need to wear a belt to secure your holster in place. We continue to use .080 thickness Kydex and Holstex for our holsters. That’s 33% thicker and much stronger that what a lot of other makers use. Yet, the Glock G19 holster with UltiClip only tips the scales at 3 ounces. Dual retention screws (most models) allows you to customize the effort need to draw the pistol from the IWB holster. The UltiClip can be moved to allow deep cover seating as well as very high on the belt line, though we don’t recommend placing it too high which increases the tendency to flop away from the body. It comes shipped to place the grip at your pants line. This allows you to establish a secure grip right away. The UltiClip Holster also allows you to customize the cant for your own personal needs. The body of the holster is constructed of .080 Kydex. This offers excellent resistance to environmental conditions as well as body sweat. Also normal atmospheric hot, cold, wet or dry will not harm your holster. This style is also called an appendix carry holster. The minimal width of the wrap around construction lends itself to placing almost anywhere on the belt. The appendix carry refers to placing the holster forward of the hip bone or the 2 o’clock position for a right-handed shooter. Single IWB Mag Pouch
The Single Mag Pouch is a convenient way to carry a spare pistol magazine. It is available for a variety of pistol magazines as well as universal fit models. You know you should be carrying spare ammunition. Now you have no excuse with this compact and lightweight solution. Each Single IWB Mag carrier features an adjustable tension screw so you can set it to your preference. If you are looking to carry a single magazine and flashlight you should check out are Mag/Light pouch. When ordering you can specify righty or lefty. The Righty is worn on the left side with the bullets forward. If you wear the Righty on the right side the bullets will face backwards. The Lefty, when worn on the right side, will have the bullets facing forward. Easy enough, right? There are several IWB options available. Shoulder Holster
From Miami Vice to Dirty Harry or a Yippee Ki-Yay NYC police detective, the shoulder holster has played an iconic role in movies and television. The Ares Tactical Shoulder Holster is an updated lightweight version using Kydex. This is a significant weight saving over older traditional leather versions and fit better than nylon models. We offer both horizontal and vertical carry holsters. Both models features an optional removable belt tie down. Each holster has a tension adjustment so you can adjust the retention to meet your desire. You can add a double magazine carrier on the other side. This really helps balance the rig and is a great way to have extra magazines at the ready. The shoulder harness is x-rig design that distributes weight well and helps to keep you holster and ammo where you place them. On the off side you can add a double magazine pouch or a combination magazine and flashlight pouch. Besides having those extra items you should be carrying easily at hand is provides great balance if you are not tying your holster into your belt. All shoulder holsters require greater care and training as compared to strong side belt holsters such as our Standard Holster. The disadvantages are it is very easy to sweep (muzzle) yourself and others on the draw. Also, it can be troublesome for people back problems. There are also some significant advantages wearing a shoulder holster. Among the advantages of a shoulder holster is access while seated. This is particularly true when you are strapped into your car seat. You can also stage your hand on the weapon under your jacket and still be concealed and inconspicuous. The shoulder rig is a great way to have your pistol and magazines at the ready for those bumps in the night. Many people find the shoulder holster in more convenient to draw with either hand. Tie down straps simple screw onto your kydex holster or mag holder and snap around your belt. We recommend at least one when choosing the vertical shoulder holster configuration. Hybrid Holster
Hybrid holsters have been very popular over the last decade. Providing the conforming nature of leather on the backside and the rugged form fitted Kydex on the outside blends the two spectrum’s of holster design. This is the Ares Tactical take featuring sturdy leather back and .080 Kydex. The Kydex Holster design allows you to have multiple shells and one leather backer. The opening is slightly flared to make holstering easier. The full wrap muzzle is standard. This protects the front sight from damage or become caught up on your clothes. As an added benefit it keeps your clothes clean from powder and oil from the slide and muzzle. Also, the wrapped muzzle reduces sharp edges and wear that can tear holes in your pants. Notice the rounded and treated edges of the leather. We take the extra time to do this because it makes carrying more comfortable and it looks good too. IWB Soft loops are a great option for those wanting something more secure that the traditional metal clips. The pull-the-dot snaps allow easy on and off. You can also choose tuckable injection molded belt clips. Cant angle can be fine tuned via front and back adjustment holes. Multiple shells are available for only $20. Bodyguard IWB V2
New! The Bodyguard V2 Holster grew out of a need for a comfortable IWB (Inside the Waistband) holster that was highly concealable, reliable, and easy put on or take off. Wrap around muzzle design protects the muzzle, keeps your clothes cleaner, and is far more comfortable than exposed versions. The Bodyguard V2 is not the next generation holster but just a different attachment style that many have asked to have made. The over the belt clip is sturdy and and adjustable for straight carry, FBI forward cant and reverse cant popular with some AIWB and crossdraw carriers. The Bodyguard V2 Holster also features dual adjustable tension screws. This will let you fine tune the amount of force needed to draw the holster to fit your needs. The “chopped” version is a straight cut across the muzzle that allows you to place a longer barrel version or threaded barrel. The body of the holster is constructed of .080 Kydex. This offers excellent resistance to environmental conditions as well as body sweat. Also normal atmospheric hot, cold, wet or dry will not harm your holster. The .060 thickness will do the job but feels flimsy to most people and sometimes is a little more difficult to reholster.
